If your cpu usage is at 100% and your gpu usage is way down in the 50's it's a bottleneck.
The FX6300 is the same price as the Core i3 3220

For newer games which are also cpu demanding I prefer the FX6300 which could also be overclocked as compared to the core i3 3220 ehich cannot be overclocked.

You can overclock it via the BLCK, but there are better chips out there. I agree.

That would only give you a max of 300Mhz more.
