I felt that at 90hz you hit a sweet spot that doesn't get hugely better @ 120hz.
IMO an AMVA 1440p panel overclocked to 90hz with its almost OLED matching perfect black level and no PWM flicker would be amazing!
Cant stand IPS back light clouding and glow it ruins the image in a dark part of a game or even in a darkened room there is only grey and no black. Also all the criticisms of TN are true but at least the best new ones colors aren't too bad and you have a chance to get a less washed out black.
the flickering people claim at 60hz vs 120hz isnt just the refresh
^ No PWM vs PWM.
A lot of people at work and home would get a lot less eye strain without PWM.
Also the glow that many people hate is gone with AMVA
look how nice the gun looks on the left against a true black vs IPS. We have been waiting for this black quality much longer than we have for faster refresh rates with LCD ? not sure why this tech isnt a bigger deal, the colors almost match IPS and the panels out at the moment start at 75hz
there is so much more to a panel than just refresh, even though more is nicer to a point.Edited by Pip Boy - 7/9/13 at 2:45am
