Arma 3 for example runs at perfectly acceptable frame rates as long as you don't enable AA (might be able to do so if you're not running 3d though).
Same goes for Battlefield 3, which has been a blast to play singe player at 40+ fps triple screen 3d again.
I am happy to post some screenshots of ingame settings or to run some benchmarks if you'd like.

Even GTAIV runs fine in eyefinity and we all know how well optimized that game is.
.....same gpu setup like yours and i agree 2gb 6970s run my eyefinity damm well! But take it from somone that has 2 monitors, your not gonna like it! Either 1 or 3 like these guys are saying.you cant aim for crap in shooter games so i end up disabling 1 monitor unless iam playing my flight sims, they look great on 2 monitors! Even racing games if your into that sorta thing ya know? what about a used gtx 690? Thats 1 hell of a card!

Also, I'm running 7850 crossfire, and I haven't had ANY issues running ANY game. And If there ARE issues, and they ARE sooo horrible, then apparently we have a bunch of morons on OCN who have setups running 2, and sometimes 3 7950s or 7970s. Right? Also, I didn't see at first that OP decided to stay with one 1080, but when I did, I suggested a 780 too wth.gif AND yes, it makes sense to go with 7970 CF because one. it's only 70 more than the 780, but they can run EVERYTHING that you'll throw at them on a single 1080 screen, and do a hell of a better job at 5760x1080 than the 780 OR Titan, IF OP decides to go that route later on. and two. At $720, they're a whopping $280+ less than the Titan, and about $280 worth of performance MORE than the Titan
this is why I suggested 7970CF, because 770 4GB SLI is quiet a bit more @$900. I've played with two 7970s myself. All I can say is that @$720, these things are ABSOLUTE BEASTS. AND I NEVER had a single issue when I installed them in a customer's rig. This guy is very picky, and a prick. He's got some 200+ games from steam, origin, and uplay combined, it has been TWO MONTHS since I've built his rig, and I haven't heard a peep. thumb.gif
I'm not suggesting OP to buy a Titan. I'm all for the 780 unless going multi-monitor. I was using the Titan's performance as reference since I've used it and the two cards perform essentially the same in games at 1080p.
660Ti SLI and Titan are on par in performance in cases where the memory width of the 660Tis don't bottleneck it.
I'm not going to comment on the CF users. CF having issues has been established by renowned review sites and admitted by AMD as well. They are scheduled to release a new driver set on the 31st of this month to improve and hopefully get rid of all the CF issues (frame latency, was it?).
Two lesser GPUs in CF/SLI being better at a lower price than a single stronger GPU is nothing new. 7970 CF would be the unquestionable choice too, only if there were no CF issues. Maybe that will change on this 31st?

So do we agree that OP should go for a 780?

2 monitor eyefinity is 33% lesser pixels than 3-monitor eyefinity. Also, if you keep the other monitor unplugged most of the time when gaming, how do you know it handles eyefinity well?

Anyways, he's going for 1080p. So no point in arguing over eyefinity.

Are you serious about that question? You need benchmarks on 3820x1080 I have em if ud like? Iam stating my opinion yes it DOES handle eyefinity well from personal experience! Op ull be fine with a 2gb card but you might need to turn down the settings a tad in certin games. Good luck with the purchase:thumb:

Actually, you know what, its fine. I believe you. If its working well for you, then honestly, good for you! thumb.gif

I have never used either multi-GPU setups or multi-monitor setups, so I only repeat what other users with experience with those kind of setups here have to say. Recently I tried to argue 3GB VRAM being enough at 3-way eyefinity/surround resolutions and was taught otherwise the hard way. This is why I'm trying to help him. I have no intention of getting into arguments with other users.

P.S. Yes, you have that experience too. Its just that I choose to believe others who taught me what I know. That is a personal preference. Sorry about that.
