A bicycle with a lawnmower attached to it? Most ignorant thing I have ever heard in relation to a motorcycle. A ZX-14R makes 197 rear wheel horsepower on the showroom floor. it is the fastest production motorcycle ever built. It has ABS, traction control, engine management features, and still gets better mileage than most cars.
And you don't need a new car just because you have kids. If anything, if I have to worry about choosing one or the other, then a new
car isn't in my budget anyways. Nothing wrong with buying a decent used car. The point is, if you manage your income properly, then kids wont be in the way of owning a bike, or a nice computer.
"But sometimes you have a kid and can't afford that stuff"... well, shouldn't have had the kid then if you can't afford it. Condoms are cheaper than babies. I have friends who make 1/4 what I do, have 3 kids, and are always crying about how much they cost. Maybe they should have thought about that beforehand. If you can only afford one of two things, that is your choice. I will never knock anyone for choosing to have a child.
But that doesn't mean you need to come in here and start insulting my personal choices and motorcycles just because you can't afford it. Kids are great. I love kids, mostly. But I have things I would much rather do than stay awake 19 hours a day for 2+ years just trying to get the kid to sleep through the night and use the toilet on his own.
And yeah, there are more important things in life, like enjoying it. Thats why I don't have children - but that's personal opinion.
By the way, you have more money invested into your one computer than an inexpensive, gas saving motorcycle would cost. So something tells me you aren't forgoing personal all of your personal entertainment for the sake of kids. So don't try and act like you are better than me because you are willing to give up what you enjoy, obviously you haven't. If it was that rough for you, you wouldn't have that rather nice computer.
Were I to have a child, the child would indeed come first. But that doesn't mean I can't have a motorcycle as well. You seem to be under the impression that it is one or the other.
Sometimes you don't have to choose between putting the kids in a safe car and owning a "bicycle with a lawnmower strapped to it". I am one of those people who doesn't need to make the choice.Edited by Masta Squidge - 7/10/13 at 2:22pm
