[EGM] GameStop No Longer Accepting PlayStation 4 Pre-orders (July 9) - Page 6

The only people hating on resellers are those without the means to resell themselves. Having lived through many consoles launches, demand is never satisfied during launch. Ever. And if for some reason this time it is, I'll simply return 4 of the ps4s to amazon. For free. I lose literally nothing. In fact it's downright stupid not to preorder several of them. Unless you hate money. Or your own self righteousness gets in the way. In which case, sucks to be you.

.....i understand buying units for friends and family.....but strictly to resell ....i definitely can't respect you.

Odds are high that he'll lose money and time on the transactions because there is no supply shortage and he has to eat shipping costs.

What "You" want to happen is not whats gonna happen because of something called "Return Policies".

Why do you care anyways? Its called capitalism........almost every freakin store in any nation sells at a price hike. No one sells at cost, just like all the PC parts we buy. You honestly think the GTX Titan really took $1000 to make? Dont make me laugh......im betting it cost them %70 less to manufacture.

People stop acting all Righteous, things have been like this since the beginning of time, what makes console re-sellers any different?

You missed my point entirely, and I'll leave it at that. I'm not going to argue.

That's so true, especially since Nintendo supplied all demands for the Wii U.........I mean Microsoft met them all with the 36......I mean Sony met them all with the PlayStation 3.........I mean PlayStation 2.......................you know what? I give up. rolleyes.gif

There was no shortage of Wii U last year. The PS4 and XBOX1 use very common parts that they can mass produce, along with the fact they use less parts inside then the last gen.

What a silly statement. There's nothing stopping everyone from hopping onto every site or store that sells preorders and grabbing them up if they want to. Some people simply disagree with the methods and would prefer not to. I'm not going to bother getting into a debate about the right and wrong's of reselling, but I will say that it's very naive to think that anyone who disagrees with you is only doing so because they lack the means to participate in the same activity.

I have to agree there. I think nearly everyone on this site has the means to re-sell if they want. I personally don't do it because I think it's just plain wrong to buy something and sell it more expensively to someone in the exact same position as myself. Not to mention my first argument was just a rant over all those times I wanted a collectors edition but they were all sold out from retailers and on e-bay for £100 more expensive. To be honest Gigatel's comment just screamed "I take advantage of others so I can get more money, you have morals so I take advantage of them." That, in it self, is Capitalism at it's finest and just like most Religions / Governments / social ideas, not everyone subscribes to them. I'm happy selling to someone the same price as what I paid for it. Heck, even at a loss is sometimes acceptable hell I've given away almost £300 in games for free on this site. A profit is great but personally I wouldn't push it, we all have our own ideals and ways of doing things. Mine isn't the same as theirs.

Do you know how their pre-orders work? You pay the full price up front or just a down payment then pay full on release day?

I don't know exactly how their pre-orders work but usually it's either a down-payment or just signing your name up... Pre-Purchases are generally the full price upfront and you get it day of release. Then again I'm living in a different country.

You're not aware of the current state of supplies. At all. I promise I won't lose any money selling my batch of ps4s wink.gif
