GTX 760 1440p Question Vram Related

Thread Starter
So me and a asus rep on Youtube were discussing the use of the 2gb Vram on the GTX 760 when applied to 1440p. I made a comment stating I loved their 760 design and wish i could of purchased it but elected to go with the 4gb variant instead by EVGA since they are the only ones with a 4gb version. His comment back was that at Asus chose to ignore making a 4gb version since the gpu would run out of muscle long before it would hit over the 2gb mark and that 4gb on the card was a waste.

So I agree with this, but what if you were running a res like 2560x1440 and you are SLI'ing the cards. Would the GTX 760 benefit from the extra Vram in this case since the use of 2 cards would up the overall horsepower or would it not apply? I'm thinking the 4gb of vram would be needed now at this point because here you are basically with 2 GTX 760s beating titan performance, and at that level of performance as compared to one GTX 760 higher levels of details, and textures and AA can be used which would eat up vram quick at 1440p right?

This is something I "think" I know the answer too but I wanted to double check with the community since I do have 2 EVGA GTX 760 4GBs on the way.

The 4gb 760s will definitely be a complete waste if you want to use settings low enough to maintain 60 fps.

Unless you're using SLI, the 760 won't be able to push the settings that need over 2GB.
