3TB HDD :Seagate or W.Digital ?

Hi everybody !

I need a new 3TB HDD for my HTPC and I am hesitant whether to buy a Seagate or a W.digital HDD . It is important for me that this be as quiet as possible ( I will watch my films and Tv series from here), I am not looking for a great performance.

I have read that Seagate only gives 1 year of warranty , isn't it?.
Western digital is 6$ more expensive , but it wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks in advance!

For large SATA drives I always go for Seagate constellation CS or ES.

In a server at the office I have a single 2TB Constellation CS and I am able to completely saturate a 1 gig link when copying files to it. Around 120MB/s sustained which means the drive is able to sustain over 120MB/s.

Most modern HDDs are pretty quiet now.

Different drives series have different warranties so you have to check the model.
