Mousepad Mistake?

Hi all, little background info first, I have a Logitech G500 (looking to upgrade it soon though) I play @ 1600 dpi, but the sensitivity slider in games pretty much as low as the slider goes. My ideal sensitivity is one hand swipe = 180 degree turn.

70% FPS, 30% RTS. Current using a Razer Sphex and pretty happy with it.

RIght, main reason I have a mousepad is because the mouse wears the finish away on my desk, I got a new desk and wanted a new pad to go with it, I went for the Razer Goliathus Extended Control Edition (should be arriving tomorrow). Did I make a bad decision with getting this pad considering my background info?

You'll be realy happy with that pad. Any mouse pad beyond those basic (thick) cheap throwaways or a regular surface is the best for a high DPI gaming mouse. I personally use a Corsair M60 on a MM200 pad and never have an issue. My non-gaming mouse is a trackman (yep, still rock them).

Ah okay, I was just so confused about the control vs speed. Which of the two pads would be closer to the Sphex?

Also if I use 1600 dpi, and lowest in game sensitivity so that one hand swipe (with my wrist anchored) = 180 degrees, is that low sens gaming or high sens?

It will be fine considering the lower DPI. I have my M60 with much higher DPI for quick responsiveness in BF3 especially air maps.
