GFX card blew, caused further damage?

Hi guys, not posted much here, but been lurking reading these forums for years....

Hope you can help.

Here's my problem, so I had a XFX 7950 DD (new revision) in my rig up until 2-3 weeks ago, when it went pop!

Short story, the card was running hot, checked thermal paste, was fine etc, re-seated still hot, playing BF3 and boom! So while my cards being replaced I've got my GTX 460 SE in there.

Since then my PC seems to be freezing like no bodies business. Now this rig has been pretty much non 'stable' since I built her in the latest-carnation... but that I believe (hope thumb.gif ) was bad vengeance ram.

But, everything is stock, and I'm still getting the freezes, IBT, OCCT, Prime, the works you name it, she won't pass it... even memtest!

Has the 7950 taken something else out along with it? caused damage to the mobo or such? Is that possible even?

Help! What's wrong? and best route of diag. if these aren't 'tell tale' symptoms ?

Thanks in advance!

Syn

Sit in bios for awhile, see if it freezes.

OK thanks for the replies!

I don't think this is a PSU issue, (its less than 12 months old) and not a bad quality PSU either imo. But not going to rule out any options with out logical / viable cause! so any way I can test the psu? other than using another of course! (which I can do, but would prefer not to start borrowing bits of the Mrs' PC tongue.gif)

Sat in bios..... no freezing.... a little more info may help. seems I can play Minecraft, even GW2 without much issue. Happens religiously in BF3 though! : S
