Would it be possible to mod a G400 into a G500?

I've got both the G400 and the G500 and I just like the shape of the G500 more and the coating is way better. The only thing holding me back from using the G500 is the ****ty sensor. Would it be possible to put the internals of the G400 into the G500?

You would still have to deal with the ****ty sensor placement of the G500...

Well, it should be possible to make a 2nd hole for the sensor.

if you are not afraid of wasting money then yes go ahead and grab both mice and mod them together somehow. in fact if the internals are connected via cables like the g400 then you could probably repalce them very easily.

I already got both mice sitting here on my desk waiting to be destroyed, lol. I got the DA2013 2 months ago but I just can't seem to like the soft clicks.

EDIT:

Ah, damn it. This would be too much of a pain to do properly. The interiors are completely different and I don't have that much time. I'll probably just switch the cords since the stiff cord of the G400 sucks.

EDIT2: I modded the G500 cord into the G400 and it works. Made the scroll wheel a bit stiffer too.

What did you do to make the scroll wheel stiffer? I've got a G400 and the scroll wheel is my main complaint.

I haven't made pictures myself but I found this while googling.

I did something similar (the thickness may be a bit too much in the picture though) with a piece of thin plastic and some hot glue. Just try something really thin (needs to be hard) and glue it under that thing. If it's too thick then you won't be able to click the wheel when the mouse is closed.

Oh, that mod. Yea I was aware of that one, I thought you meant the scrolling part of the scroll wheel, not the click itself, thanks anyway though.
