ASRock Extreme4 vs Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 vs Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0

Well, after jumping back and forth between Intel and AMD for a couple weeks, I've finally made my decision. Now all that's left is the MOBO. I don't want to spend too much, but all of these seemed to be in about the same range.

I'm leaning towards either the ASUS or the ASRock, but I wanted to get some second opinions before I placed the order.

Here's the rest of my build:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1eXAg

Or in text form:
AMD FX-8350
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 (still may be changed)
Corsair 300R
Corsair CX 750W

I have the Asus board and it is a great board. I have had no problems and it overclocks RAM and CPU very well.

That's one vote for the Asus. My only concern is that it's a 6+2 VRM, and nearly every place I look says that you need at least and 8+2 to overclock an 8-core chip like the 8350. On the other hand, A lot of people are saying that Asus VRM's are very good ones.
Yes, but the ASUS 6+2 vrm is digital which makes it equal to a regular 8+2 vrm.

You do not need an 8+2 phase to overclock an 8 core. Even though the asus has a 6+2 phase it is of extremely high quality and is also digital. The vrm section is the same as the crosshair v (minus a phew phases)

Alright, then I'm ordering the Asus now. Before I find out about some other piece of info of marginal importance that I'll spend 3 days researching rolleyes.gif

About the gpu, can i suggest looking at the gtx 760? The msi twin frozr and the evga acx version are very good cards. $256 for the 7950 is a good deal though.

I considered it, but the 7950 just seems a better deal, since I don't really care about Nvidia specific effects (so long as they don't pay developers to use code that can only run on their cards, like they did with smartphones mad.gif )

That said, I may still consider Nvidia if card prices drop and I get a good deal, especially since it'll be a bit before I can buy the GPU. In the meantime, I'll be rocking a 5450 lachen.gif
