If you didnt overclock anything yet, I would recommend you to start just with CPU overclocking. Keep memory at XMP. At the Z87 board keep everything at default, but set vcore to 1.25v and click the multiplier to 40. Boot to windows and check that things are ok. Go back to bios click multiplier up one more time to 41 and boot again to windows. Keep clicking multiplier up and boot to windows until it reach instability which should be around 4.4ghz to 4.9ghz. When you can see its not really working anymore, then boot to bios and pull the multiplier down one. Download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and stresstest CPU and memory for some time. If things are not stable go back to bios and pull multiplier one more down.

Also be sure you have it watercooled or at least a really good CPU cooler, and lots of air through the chassis of your computer.

btw: I think RX7-2nr was rude, or maybe I didnt get his point

As for "most potential"
idk,. the FX and haswell will scale immensely. The Haswell won't scale on air/water like SB did though tongue.gif

Look in here fer FX: http://www.overclock.net/t/1139726/amd-fx-bulldozer-piledriver-owners-club/0_100

Your "Apple Enthusiast" title says it all.

Please no more PMs either just post to your thread going forward. Thanks. biggrin.gif
