Is this heatsink discoloration normal?

Today I pulled my beloved 580 apart to get some groundwork done on my plan to strap an H80 to it...

After removing the smexy heatsink, I noticed that the copper underside was significantly discolored.

Are those streaks and stains normal? What are they caused by? Do I need to worry about it?

Could be from the factory, but I'm sure there is nothing to worry about.

Just tarnish / oxidation. Totally normal. It can be polished off but I don't think it will make much of a difference cooling-wise.

Totally normal. Bare copper has an tendency to stain/discolor over time (the "splash" pattern is most likely due to machining liquid residue). A piece of cloth and some vinegar would polish it right back up.
