Feedback needed: LG 23EA53

Anyone have this monitor?

It's not getting as much attention as the better 23/27EA63 but it's a tad lot cheaper and most of all, it's available in my country.

I have the LG IPS-234V and while it's a good overall monitor, the dark scenes aren't very nice.

I have the opportunity of getting one of these monitors at around 200$.

I have no plans of going higher than 1080p and don't plan to spend a lot higher than 200$.

Anyone? biggrin.gif

Here is a thread I started last week about this monitor.

It appears to me that some people do not think it is worth the money. I have one sitting here in the box and plan to deliver it/ set it up for a friend today. As long as this looks as good as a TN panel, then he will be happy with it. All he will be using it for is web surfing and occasional movie. I paid $160 delivered to my door.

Thanks.

I guess people are passing over this in favor of the 2xEA63 variants which are better specwise AFAIK.

Id probably have gone for that too except it's not available in my country smile.gif

The selection of monitors here are all ()*$# poor.

I can say the monitor looks nice. It is thin, light weight, and small bezel. It does have the ag coating on it. The color looks nice out of the box and no dead pixels. I did not use the factory stand, it is mounted using the vesa stand.

Thanks. Any feedback on IPS glow/backlight bleed, quality of dark scenes?
