new BenQ 2411T Backlight Clouding 144hz

So I got my XL2411T Yesterday. And I noticed in a move the screen wasn't as dark as my last one, blacks seemed really cloudy.

My old screen I had on 100 brightness, this one I lowered my benq down to 24 to try any match it. anyway did some blacklight bleed tests etc and found a few things.

When on 144hz I get this weird white kinda glow on the screen, isnt so bad at 60hz. But i want to run it 144hz 24/7.
So hooked up my old samsung that has a nasty red line in it. and did some side my side tests.

side by side, benq at 144hz samsung at 60hz

would this count as a doa due for replacement?

Looking up on other forums, when turning lightboost on which i cant do yet as im on a AMD card, it makes the backlight even brighter so im a bit worried it will be worse.

Hi Zyther smile.gif

Well i just saw your message and here i am to try to help you smile.gif

I don't have brightness on 100%, because maybe it's me or my sensitive eyes, but the default settings from manufacturer, were very aggressive.
My settings are:

Picture Mode= Standard

Brightness= 28 (according to preferences and lighting – this is still rather bright)
Contrast= 50
Gamma= Gamma 5
Color Temperature= User
Red= 100
Green= 96
Blue= 98
(they're not mine, i just went to (http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/benq-xl2411t) and copied them and by far the image became better.
I don't have that milky screen (i reset my settings), so i think you should return it...(also using an amd card, i gave it a try to lightboost when i had gtx 560 ti, but it wasn't powerful enough for gaming).
Also when you turn it on, the screen will become much brighter.
Hope i could help you smile.gif
