Urgent - Need help finalizing this rig - Page 2

no sweat man...The 760 may be good if he can't find a 7950 for the same price, or one with game bundles.

I'd still go 7950 since it's more fun to overclock. biggrin.gif

checkout the 3DMark score from that same source. the 7950 at only 1100/1575 (equivalent to a 7970 GHz) scores 7300.

the fps for the 7950 for BF3 at 1080 . . . that's my minimum with the 7950 at stock with only a i7 SB.

I would be buying from the following retailer. Please suggest which one to buy. Conversion 1 USD = 60 rupees

depending on your budget . . . i suggest whichever is cheaper and you think will meet your game settings for both today's and soon to come games like BF4.

I'd go with this one: http://mdcomputers.in/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=7950&sort=p.price&order=ASC&product_id=1856

Will be much better to oc and faster for a single card solution.

The other option is a reference Zotac, which is terribly loud. If you wanna save 4000 roupees go for that instead.

Thanks guys. I will go with Sapphire HD 7950 3 GB Vapor-X.
Not 100% sure about CPU. May get FX8350.
Please suggest a good motherboard for 8350 which would be stable for moderate over-clocking.
1. Processor - FX 8350
2. Motherboard - ASRock 990FX Extreme4 for FX 8350?
3. RAM - Corsair Vengeance 1 x 8 GB DDR3 1600.
4. GPU - Sapphire HD7950 3GB Vapor-X.
5. PSU - Corsair TX650 V2
6. DVD RW - Asus 24x DVD RW
7. Cabinet - Corsair 300R
8. HDD - 1 TB Seagate 7200 rpm

I will get CM Hyper 212 Evo, 2 extra 120 mm cabinet fans and an SSD after a couple of months. (Budget constraint)
Please suggest a SSD only for OS, programs and 2-3 Games Installs.

Regarding the Air Flow, 300R has a front and rear fan included. I am thinking of installing 1 additional 120mm fan on top and 1 120mm fan on the side panel.
PSU will be placed so that it will pull air from outside into the case. So the airflow would be from front and bottom to rear and top.
Is the arrangement OK or should I remove the fan from the side panel and add it to the front?

Best budget overclocking AM3+ board is most likely the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 or the ASRock board you mentioned, both are good so go with the cheaper one. However, I would try for 2x4GB of DDR3 as you don't want your CPU gimped running single channel mode.

Next, I would suggest FX 8320 depending on its price compared to the 8350. It will save you a little bit of money and they overclock about the same on standard cooling.

You will be happy with the 7950 vapor-X, I just had one and it was a beast of a card.

As far as a good budget SSD, the Samsung 840 is a good drive and fairly cheap for the 120GB.

Thanks Scorpion. Will follow your advice.
Samsung 840 120 GB will be enough for my needs.
