Need replacement for i5 750

Thread Starter
Well, my motherboard is acting quite strange, so I'll need to upgrade from a i5 750 to something.

I was thinking of a FX 6300 and getting a good motherboard so I could just upgrade the CPU in the future, seeing how AMD will most likely release 1 or 2 more generations using the same AM3+ socket.

I use the PC for gaming, so later this year I might get a GTX 760.

Is the FX 6300 a downgrade or an upgrade compared to the i5 750? I plan to overclock it a little bit, though.

That may not increase performance much, if not possibly a downgrade. I recommend going haswell, prolly a 4670k and a nice z87 asus mobo.

Too much money.

200 vs 120

and the mobo will probably be 200+, since it's a new platform

Well, I'm gonna go with a 3570k. It's a little bit more money, but heck...

Now I have to chose between these two mobos:

I want good OC capabilities (only air, so nothing extreme) and good SAT3 performance for my SSDs.

And I will be adding a GTX 770 sometime later this year.

either are good, I would go for the G1 Sniper though.
I myself however, wouldn't really go for gigabyte mobo's, you should look into Asus mobo. They tend to have nice overclocking capabilities and generally use very good components.
