Mushkin chronos deluxe bad decision?

Thread Starter
Hi, I ordered a 240gb chronos deluxe by looking at the good read/write speeds it gets and the price, however after reading up on the sandforce controller used in the ssd and its high failure rates I'm having second thoughts on my purchase and thinking I should have gone with a different ssd.

Are the sandforce controllers really that bad?

Should have gotten a samsung 840,they are stupid cheap now. The chronos deluxe is a Asynchronous nand which is slow and low end.

The Mushkin Enhanced Chronos uses Asynchronous ONFi NAND which is admittedly slow. The Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe uses Toshiba Toggle-Mode DDR NAND which is fast. The Mushkin Enhanced Chronos MX (sometimes referred to as Deluxe MX by Newegg) uses Synchronous ONFi NAND which performs somewhere between async and toggle NAND (closer to toggle than async). Deluxe and MX are pretty decent and if he got it for around the same price or cheaper than the Samsung 840 (TLC), I don't really see anything wrong. Most of the issues with SandForce have been fixed already. It's really quite a shame they still have a bad rap due to earlier firmware issues.
