ASUS New AI Suite III (Thermal Radar) Compatibility Question

Thread Starter
Hi everybody,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this please.

I currently have a Z77 Sabertooth and I use ASUS's AI Suite II for the Thermal Radar software to manage my fans, plus it has a few other handy features but mainly for the Thermal Radar as SpeedFan doesn't work and I've yet to find a better fan controller software as yet.

Here's my question, the new Z87 ASUS MoBos come with the new updated AI Suite III which includes Thermal Radar 2.0, so I was wondering if any experts out there could tell me if they think the new Thermal Radar 2.0 would be compatible with the older Z77 ASUS MoBos???

Thanks, would appreciate any advice.
Cheers

I asked the same question on the ASUS forums and was told they are not compatible. Pity, that.

Why not install it and see for yourself then you can let us know. For example AI Suite II wasn't compatible with Z68 but it worked, it controlled the fans but it didn't do as good of a job as it does on Z77. You may get functionality, but not all of it for this too.

ASUS won't tell us to use it, they want us to buy a new mobo either way.

Yeah I didn't wanna install it blindly, as I was concerned about it messing something up. Plus I would have to uninstall Thermal Radar 1.0 and I've spent dozens of hours over the past couple of months tweaking all the settings so it's perfect for my setup.

Stuff it I'm gonna give it a try, I'll report back with my findings.

Cheers guys

Well quick update. I decided to DL and install the new Thermal Radar 2.0, to see if it would have some functionality, but unfortunately it plainly won't install. It starts the install process but then crashes just a few seconds into it :-\

Oh well it was worth a crack.
Cheers guys
