Anyone still using x58 chipset?

it's been since summer 2010 (spent about 2k after all said and done) that i've bought anything new and i feel like i'm way behind in everything that is coming out... bought the rampage iii extreme since it was all the rage at that time and now looking in retrospect... i also feel like i way overspent

everything has been going strong still and i've yet to have problems. last computer i had was from DELL and it lasted me at least 6 years - gave it to a sister in law that only uses it for school so the added years make it 10ish.

maybe i'll update in 2015 so it'll be like i've used my system for $400 a year lol

how long have you guys held on to your last build and how much did you spend at the time?

Had my Z68 board, Intel 2500k and SSD since 03/12, other hardware was purchased later or taken from my previous main rig, spent $1.3k AUD all up on the computer only, (1st rig in my sig) and i'm not entirely keen on upgrading to Haswell and LGA1150 unless a ridiculously good deal comes along.

Other than that i've also got a 2004 model Dell which i've done a couple upgrades and light case mods on, it's barely capable of doing the basics nowadays and i still hang on to it for some reason. thinking.gif
