Don't forget about the Vertex 450

http://techreport.com/review/24969/ocz-vertex-450-solid-state-drive-reviewed/10

Basically, it comes down to either a Vertex 450 or a Samsung 840, unless you find another drive on sale. The OCZ Vector I've bought (which is the 450's older brother) is just fantastic. It's not night and day, but I can subjectively tell it's faster than my bottom barrel Agility 4.

Got an M4 too, and it's a great drive. Better than the 840 if you can find it for a better price.

I seen benchmarks where the 450 is quicker but ocz has a higher failure rate.
Im not in a rush but the plextor and the samsung stand out more to me

The Vectors and 450s are supposed to change that, but OCZ is having a hard time escaping the Sandforce debacle.

The plextors aren't as fast as a Vector, 840 Pro, or even a Corsair Neutron, yet they're still pretty expensive. IMHO, You're better off either buying a faster Neutron/840 Pro/450 for speed, and Intel drive for reliability, or a 840 / drive on sale for value.

Check out the 'Today Only' section on Scan. Especially the Solid State Drive bit.

http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/index.aspx#16

£125 for the 840 regular 250GB.
£99.95 for the 840 Pro 128GB

That's the presale price, I think.
I would go with the 840 non pro 250GB.
I bought a 256GB 830 a while ago, at about £165 or so, and I have just 20GB free now.. that's why I am buying another tongue.gif
