60-120GB SSD recomendations

Thread Starter
I was thinking about grabbing an SSD for my desktop. Either 60GB-128GB. Are SSDs good buys used or does it make more sense to buy them new? I'm looking for a good bang for the buck 60-120/8GB drive but there's so many options out now...lol.

I always buy em new. Don't know how much abuse someone before you has done, unless you can find one that's still under warranty. Here are some of the SSD's that you should be looking at in no particular order :

Samsung 840 pro
OCZ Vertex 4 and Vector
Plextor M5P
Crucial M4
Sandisk Ultra Plus
Muskkin Enhanced (various versions)

For everyday use, they all perform the same. Anybody who says that once is faster then the other when all they do is browse and game are lying. If you want my opinion, Vector, M5P and 840 Pro should be on the top of your list. Ultra plus should be #1 if your looking for the cheapest.

Since SSDs have a finite life span, it's better to buy them new.

If write speeds aren't paramount, getting a Samsung 840 (non-Pro) on sale (~$90) would be a good choice. If write speeds are more important, then the list of SSDs that NexusRed listed are worth looking at.
