Razer Tiamat 7.1 vs 2.2

Thread Starter
Hello everyone, so I have been looking at the Razer Tiamat headset and I was wondering which would be best from the two? What I hear is that the 7.1 Tiamat is great for gaming, but not for music/movies. And with the 2.2 Tiamat, great for music/movies, but no 7.1 for better gaming accuracy. Please do not recommend me other headphones because to be honest I am trying to also keep a color scheme for peripherals and these fit perfectly. To be honest, I feel like I already have an answer (the 2.2 version). But is there anything that the 7.1 Tiamat has that makes it really worth it over the 2.2?

Didn't you just tell us the differences between the two?
And you can always use virtual 7.1 surround with the 2.2, if your soundcard has the support for it (dolby headphones/cmss-3d/sbx). Or use Razer Surround software.

reviews have been pretty mediocre even from major sites/publications (whom always seem to give the impression that gaming headsets in general are good)

shame, I think the Tiamat looks pretty cool (other than the green LED lighting/accents)

If you believe everything that the commercial review sites say about gaming audio products, every single headset should blow your mind with their "quality".

But the truth is that even the highest rated gaming headsets are mediocre compared to cheapest ocn/headfi/etc recommended headphones.
Tritton pc510hda got bronze/silver awards from reviews, I would give it 3/10.
