7970 won't start when cold

So a couple months ago I bought a Gigabyte 7970 OC edition

It has worked perfectly fine aside from this one issue:

I haven't touched it myself yet, (everything is at the factory clock speeds, voltages etc.). So if the PC has been off for a while I won't get a display on the monitor (it says No Signal). The Cards 3 fans spin and everything appears to be fine.

The odd thing is it seems to be the cold weather that is affecting this as on really cold mornings (it is currently winter here in Australia by the way) it take several restarts and a lot of waiting for the computer to warm up. When it isn't too cold, I can just turn the computer off then on again after the first failed boot and things will be fine.

I know it is the Graphics card that is the issue after a bit of troubleshooting, also the on-board graphics work perfectly fine.

I wanted to know if anyone here knows what could be causing this issue or if there is anything I can try to fix it, before I RMA (I will probably go insane without my card for a few weeks wheee.gif.

I am patient in waiting for my computer to turn on so it isn't an issue however I am also concerned that this issue could be due to something deeper (card dying failing or something.)

I thought it could be the card dying at first but once the computer is on everything runs fine so I am a bit confused.

No artifacting, stuttering, screen tearing. No games have performance issues at all!

Thanks in advance for any help.

That's weird. I've heard of cards not starting up due to them getting too hot but never the other way around.

Yeah, same. It's been doing my head in trying to figure out what could be causing it.
