Just dog RAM or is it just AMD

Thread Starter
Bought CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B for $95 few moths ago (look at them now) and decided to run passmark... and got dog results pretty much like this

And

Now I know there differences in intel RAM being in AMD systems and even tends to be allot more slower, but is this the case? perhaps timings, voltage, frequency could be the problem? Adjusted frequency to 1333mhz to auto voltage and still got the same results. Ran updated goldmem with each stick tested one by one throught the day and got 100%, some reason it thought I have an Opteron??? what ever. Maybe get Gskill Ripjaws or something and trade these in for $130 to someone (CPUID thinks the codename is Zambie, even that update didn't fix that)

Maybe your mobo doesn't like using all 4 slots, or sticks are not on QVL. I guess there could be other problems too but those are the first two that come to my mind. Sometimes RAM is just finicky, if they arn't then you just haven't built enough computers yet smile.gif GL with the fix.

If only I had a dollar for every time I had some fickle RAM.

Yeah I've never had RAM that wasn't fickle. Even my first DDR1 stick had issues.
