How high can I OC i7 3930k Water Cooled

Thread Starter
I just made a new computer and I have a i7 3930k CPU with a Swiftech H220 water cooler on it, it runs at a stable 40C right now but it's only at 3.2Ghz

I was hoping I could get it too 5Ghz but I don't know if I'll be able too so wanted some tips on how to do that and if it would be a good idea.

I like the thought of having 5Ghz haha.

It depends on how good your chip is, the H220 is a great cooler so you should be able to push it pretty high.

I'd expect 4.5GHz is a very achievable number, anything above that is reliant on how good the CPU is. 5GHz is a bit optimistic but hey, you never know biggrin.gif

Also, what motherboard do you have?

Agreed, the H220 is amazing. I run one with a very high OC for air. Also, use a quality TIM, i recommend CLU thumb.gif
