Hmm? 7950GT vs 1950XT?

Thread Starter
I'm building a new computer and it's going to have roughly whats listed in my system specs my budget is $800 altogether for this computer.

I was planning on getting the 7950GT because of the 512mb memory (Note: I play mmos mainly..and they're are some serious graphic suckers coming out and I know memory is more important in those types of games than a FPS)

I still dont know if 1950XT it better tho..

Please consider everything, Incuding the ATI GPU drivers that I would or (maybe) not use.

Please include Links of the Graphics card's brands your referring to with your vote.

I was thinking the BFG 7950GT and the diamond of sapp 1950XT

To be honest I'd get a more powerful PSU before you invest in one of those graphics cards. They suck up a lot of power and a simple "450w ATX" probably won't cut it. You'd be better off spending a good $100 on a nice stable PSU with plenty of power.

Roger that.

As with any upgrade, make sure your PSU can handle it before you put that new card in and kill it with a crappy PSU.

I'd get a new PSU, too. Also, you can add a poll AFAIK by going to thread tools and hitting Add Poll. I may be wrong, though.

Trusted brands. A $30 600W PSU will most likley be garbage....

Some good brands are:

Seasonic
FSP
OCZ
PCP&C
Ernemax
Antec
Silverstone

I wouldn't recommend: Rosewill, Raidmax, Powmax, Aprevia (aspire)

Just never, EVER buy a Powmax PSU....EVER.

Look to see how many amps are on the 12volt rail(s). Generally, a single strong 12volt rail is best (upwards of 30amps). Dual/Tri/Quad rail PSU's are more common.
