1- the quad core will be a waste of power as Windows phone already flies on the lumia 920
2-1080p is not a huge jump i have seen the HTC one and the S4 and the lumia 920's IPS screen was much better in terms of the on screen image quality, the colors are outstanding and the 334ppi density is much more than enough
the only thing this phone needed was a bigger battery but if the battery life is more or equal to the lumia 920 then its more than enough for me!
1020 uses a AMOLED screen(925/928 uses AMOLED as well, Nokia is clearly abandoning IPS and going full AMOLED), therefore your 920 IPS argument is moot with regard to 1020 screen quality vs other phones.

Windows phone 8 GDR2(current version) only have support for WXGA(1280X768), 1080p won't be supported until GDR3.
My main problem with 1020 is the width/thickness & wall of bezels around the screen, other than that it is as good as Windows Phone could be and the Camera looks to be amazing.Edited by sherlock - 7/13/13 at 5:14pm
