If it's anything like the Windows phone 7, then yes. I use to program for the Windows phone 7 and all apps where required to be built for a 480x900 pixel display-- if I remember correctly.

The Surface tablets are similar; I was planning to pick up one until I saw it wasn't 1080p.

I do like the Windows Phone 8 operating system however, it's very nice and easy to use. I use to have a Samsung Focus and enjoyed WP7. I think we won't see 1080p screen resolution until WP9.

The Surface Pro is 1080p

1080p for WP8 will come late 2013 or early 2014 in the GDR3 build together with quad core support

The thickness on the 1020 is mildly understandable due to the Camera module(and it is thinner than the 920), but the wall of bezel around the screen & the monstrous thickness for a 4.5" screen phone is a big turn off.

I personally was hoping they would throw this into a body more like the 928. The 1020 is actually more akin to the 900 than the 920...body wise.
I've been hoping for less bezel too, but in reality, the smaller the bezel the more likely the screen will break on contact. I think the 1020 is fine, plus the curved glass really helps smile.gif

If this had a micro SD slot I would buy it. Will probably get the Note 3 when it comes out.

Because I'm anal about it: 1280x768 is a 5:3 AKA 15:9 ratio, not 16:9.

Interestingly enough the actual product page for the 1020 gets it correct and says "15:9"
