It's 2013, we need to start waning xp and dx9 out of our games, especially with Next Gen around the corner.

DX11 is not that old. Dropping support for DX9 would have been an unbelievably dumb move.

For a franchise as dead as splinter cell, without Michael Ironside, you're probably right.

It's fail because, this game will look just as bad as convictions. Besides, I like to see some native direct x11 games. It's 2013 not 2003.

Not that old? You do realize that more people own windows 7 on steam than xp,right? Not to mention, it has been more 4 years since windows 7 was available.

Well, I guess something to account for is the fact that SC Pandora Tomorrow was my first SC game. The first one was good, but became troublesome in later levels, especially with the Chinese general and the whole door hacking sequence. Pandora Tomorrow was just such a great game in the stealth field, creating some of the most tense, yet quiet and subtle moments I've ever had in gaming.

My issue with Chaos Theory is that other than graphics, I feel the exact opposite of your post. While the plot was great and mechanics are polished and more functional, I found that it wasn't too different from its predecessors. Other than the noise meter (which was a godsend), I didn't feel that many of the new mechanics were very groundbreaking. To be honest, I don't recall a ton of new features spanning all three of the first games (minus graphics and plot, which were all exceptional).

That being said, I loved all SC's until Conviction and that's when the series needed to rest.

I concur, there weren't many ground breaking changes, cause too much change gave us Conviction, which sucked. But I think as far as improving a game that was already really good Chaos theory surprised me more than Pandora.
