How far should i push my GTX460?

i managed to OC the core (sig rig) to 835Mhz @ the default voltage of 1.037

@ 860Mhz i need a voltage of 1.085

my goal is 900Mhz and the Afterburner slider allows a max voltage of 1.212

but

is it safe to apply such a voltage (if needed) provided that the stress test T (MSI Kombuster) stays below 85C?

Im doing the same ATM, as I recently picked up a used EVGA FPB gtx460 (decent 2 heatpipe cooler IMHO)

Running fine @ 60% fan ~70*C (in high ambients) with 1.12v @ 875 core with maxed (in afterburner) 2340 mem clock, 900 core @ 1.25 isnt crashing, but I do see artifacts

I would stick with GPU stress test personally, Burn-in

just sounds like trouble.

Check out the club, plenty of user overclock info there:

Edit: im going from memory here, could be 1.012 and 1.025? that I was running

i am doing this too ATM and the strange thing is..10 minutes into the test with (GPU stress) and 900Mhz core is stable @ 1.10 and max T so far is 76C

is 10 minutes too soon? should i wait more?

Hrm, I have heard some reports of kombuster not being aggressive enough

Kombuster is made together with the makers of Furmark so it should be aggressive enough if not the same.

I would also run 3Dmark and heaven as well

It should be but it's not,

every game i tried after a 15 min of Kombuster failed within seconds of gameplay, i had to increase the voltage from 1.10 to 1.15 to stabilize 900Mhz core speed

OCCT is what i used on my fermi cards for stability checks, seemed to work a million times better than everything else.

This I would run Kombuster to get an idea of the max temp, but heaven/valley and 3Dmark will be much better tester of stability. Personally I find Valley is the best one.
