780 SLI heaven benchmark lagg?

Thread Starter
Hello, I have a problem with my 780s, it might not be traditional lagg, but sometimes heaven benchmark ''slows down'' and then resumes, I can't seem to detect any difference in the framerate. Also while running the heaven benchmark, everything in windows is extremely unresponsive. If I type something over steam while running the benchmark the letters will appear 1 second after i pressed the button.

Any idea what it is?

Is your vram overclocked on your card? If so, drop that down a bit and see if the problem persists. Otherwise I'm not sure what could be the issue.

I reset my cards to stock, but the same problem appeared again.

It seems to be worse if I alt-tab out of the benchmark and go into it again.

Could it in any way be related to ram or maybe my SSD/HDD?

Two more things to try. Under clock your ram on your computer by one multi and also lower your vram speed under stock just for trouble shooting purposes.

I don't know what your trying to achieve if your are running a benchmark whilst trying to multitask...its hardly going to give an accurate result.

My suggestion is run the benchmark then chat on steam as exiting to the desktop is going to drop your clocks speeds down to near idle and make the test useless.

I was not trying to achieve anything, I just found it odd that windows became so unresponsive if i alt-tabbed out of the benchmark. Never happened with any other benchmark.

Anyway I tried to lower the RAM multi and vram clock and that only seem to have made the problem worse. It Is some cheap-ass value kingston ram i picked up a few years back.

EDIT:

It is also worth mentioning that I experience a lot of lagg in crysis 3 aswell, everytime I enter a new area etc I get something that resembles ''load lagg''. Not sure if that is normal in crysis 3 though.
