Need overclocking help pls

Thread Starter
I tried overclocking my 3200+ but something is holding it back.. I set Htt to x4, Lowered the ram to ddr200, uppered the cpu voltage to 1.6v, and increased fsb incrementally. I managed to overclock it from 2000mhz to 2070mhz, any suggestions? i know it can go much further.

From what I see you did everything right, but there would be something. Could you post a CPUz screen with your CPU and MEM page? It would help a lot knowing what are the exact settings u use.

try overclocking the FSB without increasing the stock voltage. Some cpus don't like alot of voltage at low FSB. Plus you always want to run the lowest vcore you can. The usual way to do things is up the FSB as far as you can then up the vcore a little to get the FSB a little bit further, and this process is repeated many times.

i see you have corsair value, like me and a 3200+ like me.

Yea put everything to stock again, reset bios then put your ram down from 200 to 183 (think its 183) then bump your FSB like 10 so its 210 and thats it, dont toutch the vcore just yet.

Ask again if your not sure where the ram divider is

and there it is. 3 sticks or RAM is a big no no when overclocking. The memory controller can't handle 3 or 4sticks properly. dnt know why, maybe some else will elaborate. take out one of sticks and then try to overclock it.

Thanks! it does make sense to keep the vcore the minimum you can, so stock it is about 1.42v, ill reduce it to 1.3v and will see how it goes. And improvement, there are many posts on how to overclock a pc, just needs time to figure some stuff out, and yes it is done from the bios. Get to know your bios abit first, then start reading some posts on how to overclock

no, not 1.3v. thats too low. 1.4v is stock for venice cores.

you need to set your HT to 4x maybe even 3x. its still showing 1000 MHz in CPUz. also before you start jacking up your HTT, make sure CPU spread spectrum is turned off. up your memory voltage to 2.85v as well.
