AMD Phenom II 1055t X6 125w Can't OC past 3.9ghz

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum but have stumbled on here several times and saw some great support and decided to join today to see if a couple of you can help me out. Like the title says I can't get it to boot or sometimes even post past 3.9ghz. I've seen several people pass 4ghz and higher with this chip (took a look at the 1055t owners club). I'm starting to wonder if my specific chip can do it. I'm thinking of buying an FX-8350 sooner or later but would like to see what I can pull off with my current setup. My specs are on my profile under rigs but here a few of the important ones with a couple bios shots. Thanks for any wisdom you can drop on me and no suggestions will be overlooked.

Asus Sabertooth 990FX r2.0
Antec HCP-750
Corsair H100
Corsair Vengeance 1600 4x4gb
Asus Radeon 6850 v1 CF (only one in at the moment)

It's probably the max OC for your chip or close to it, especially with the 1.476V you have going into it. I wouldn't go much higher. You might try bumping up the CPU/NB voltage a bit more, but everything else looks fine. My 1055T would only hit 3.7Ghz on three different motherboards. And realistically 3.9Ghz is still a 40% overclock which is pretty good thumb.gif

Might be the board, or it could be that you got a TERRIBLE CPU tongue.gif

Like I said I couldn't go over 3.7Ghz, and that was with a cheap 700 series board, an ASUS M4A79XTD-EVO, and an ASRock 990FX Professional. So it was definitely the chip...

OP, I'd call it good at 3.9Ghz and be happy you can get it that high. Others have been able to get theirs higher, but as with all chips it's just a crap shoot on how high any specific one will clock.

Maybe grab an 83xx chip, or just grin and bear it with that P2 until Steamroller comes out in the fall.

Thanks for the replies guys. I bought the board about 2 weeks ago brand new so I kind of doubt it. Just wanted to make sure their was nothing wrong with my settings. I've had this chip for almost 3 years so probably time to retire it for a 8350. Thanks again for the responses
