want to upgrade to ???

Thread Starter
I have been happy with my gtx 570 up untill I loaded up tombrader and realized I finally had to start turning down settings to keep fps nice and smooth. I see all the hype with the new 770, 780 and am wondering what is a good path to upgrade. is a 760 oc'd going to be a big boost in gaming fps? or do I need to at least jump up to a 770 gtx? obviously I want a 780, but really am considering a 760. but really how much of a increase will I see with a 760??
I have been trying to read as much as I can about this stuff. but I kniw I could sell my current gou and out in a little extra cash to get a better faster card.

how long till the next line up of gpus? I would love a SOC Gtx 770 smile.gif
please help with some advice for me. and also will my current cpu be a bottleneck for a 770-780?

I'd upgrade from your 570 to a 770, as the 760 is essentially a cut-down 670 and not enough of a jump to justify the time and trouble. As for the Maxwell-based GTX 800 series, it won't be out until early/mid 2014.

Regarding your CPU, an i7-2600K certainly won't be a bottleneck for a 770 or 780.

Svenge is right, the 760=670ti with more memory bandwidth that does nothing for performance. the 770 is pretty much a 680 with more memory bandwidth which does benefit it some but not a ton.

I just got my 780 last Friday, im coming from a ballz out overclocked 580(1020core) and i could not be happier. I personally don't mind paying a bit of premium for good single card performance that will last 2-3 years.

If price is a issue you could always wait a couple of months for AMD to drop their new series, it MIGHT lower the cost of team green a little.
