Hi frown.gif

i just received my new motherboard asus m5a99fx pro r.2
i spent the last 5 hours trying to figure out why windows wont install on my raid 0 2x vertex 3 setting

i set my sata controller as raid (tried esata in raid and ide) added the two ssds in the raid setup as raid 0 and everytime i get to the windows installation it wont recognize my ssds so i have to manualy pick the lastest amd sata controller driver it then find the ssds but wont let me install. I get the following error :

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

i cant find anything on google, i have no idea what to try next frown.gif

pease help

what should i do ?

I assume you have actually created the RAID array (CTRL+I right after the BIOS post). Assuming you have, just make sure the SATA controller mode is set to RAID in the BIOS. Also make sure that your RAID drives are both connected to the primary SATA controller. I'm not familiar with that particular MB, but many include, for example, both an Intel SATA controller and a secondary SATA controller from a different manufacturer. The second controller is typically there just to provide an extra SATA port or two and an eSATA port.

I doubt you're running into this problem with an SSD array but it will give that error if your RAID array is over 2TB in size.

Thank you for the replies, You guys gave me good hints and i figured the problem.
Its kinda stupid, after loader the raid chipset driver i was able to see the the ssd. i then had to click the error a few times and the "next" button would ungray and i then would let me install. this is quite stupid but anyways it worked so... problem solved!

Thank you!
