Thread Starter
I need a good performing PCI-E motherboard. It must be socket 939 for my brand new opty.

Must also have onboard audio and vga to see me through untill R600 is released.

I'd prefer it not to be micro-atx. I'm looking for a top performer.

well, normally reg ATX boards dont have onboard video... so, if you want a "top performer" you might want to go with like a Asus board, and maybe a X1600, or 7600gt...

prob $100 for board, and like $120 for the Video card

if you just want to have a working computer, you could go with like a 7300

but you'll want a good board either way... preferably an Asus, EpOX, or Gigabyte.

Your going to have to compromise somewhere. I take it your not planning on gaming until R600 comes out?

My advice would be to go with a good quality board - e.g. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MB-017-DF (there are other stockers at that price) and then pay £40 or so for something like a used 6600 if your planning on doing light gaming or £20 for a PCI 6200
