Ubuntu Crash

I'm attempting to install Ubuntu on my brand new system it doesn't have windows or anything but everytime it starts installing it gives me this error "the ext4 file system creation in partition #2 of SCI6 (0,0,0) (sda) failed" what do I do???

It also gives me "input/output error during read on /dev/sda

format the disk and try again. If that doesn't work, try a different distro. Lubuntu, Kubuntu, and the main release of the Linux Mint do not count. If you try a new distro, Fedora or the Debian Edition of Linux Mint might be a good fit.

Does your motherboard have a BIOS or UEFI?
Have you checked your SMART tools to see if the HDD isn't faulty?

Assuming you have network connectivity from the live CD, you can open a terminal and do the following:
Code:
sudo apt-get install smartmontools

After smartmontools is installed you can view the drive information with
Code:
sudo smartctl -d auto -a /dev/sda
