ABOUT GSKILL RAM

Hey Guys , i have bought a gskill ram of -
8gb ddr3 -1600mhz , 11cl, for laptop

now , my query is the RAM that i purchaged is gskill , and it having printed name "ELPIDA" on its all 8 chip boxes on RAM,
I didnt actually unpack it ,
I was wondering what is this "ELPIDA"? i doubt that they given me wrong RAM or wat

Elpida is the name of the actual fabricator of the RAM ICs. In most cases the fabricator of the actual ICs will screen their brand name onto the memory chip.

Hynix, Elpida, Micron, Samsung etc.

Correct, the ram chips (funny little black things on the ram sticks) themselves are made by a variety of manufacturers, while G-skill puts it together.
