Resale Values + Estimated Price Drops Thread

So I couldn't find any threads about estimated resale values...

What do you guys think used 7970, 680, 770, or 780 will be worth over time? Also, what is your guess as to how much the price will drop when the AMD 9000 series or Nvidia's next GTX series arrives?

I think the 7970 will drop to $200 used if the AMD 9000 series launches this Fall, and I'm guessing a $50 discount on the 770 and 780.

Here are some screenshots from Camelegg, not 100% accurate but it gives you a general overlook. The lowest I have seen a brand new 7970 was for $300 with 3 games, I am not sure about the lowest 680.

Not sure about resale values, but pcpartpicker.com has video card price trends for the last 12 months. That may or may not give you some insight.

Interesting but kind of hard to tell with that scale... Also that source doesn't mention any game bundles or rebates.

I'm thinking of not keeping my 7970 now, I think I'll go with a next gen. console and keep myself busy with the GTX570 I still have. The 7970 would be a $130 upgrade but I feel it will be very short lived due to the 9000 series, next gen. consoles and games which will once again drop the FPS' significantly. I can live with playing on High settings instead of Ultra at 2560x1440.

7970s should be holding their value more due to cryptocurrencies. I don't expect to dip below $250, even used HD7950s are flogged for $220 easily.

Nvidia GTX 670/ GTX 680 likely won't drop because there isn't supposed to be any more GTX 700 series cards out for 2013 and the GTX 760 doesn't outperform it. They're holding ~$230 used and $280ish new ; GTX 680 should hold around $260 used and $320 new (GTX 770 is about $360).

The GTX 780 and GTX Titan are far more expensive cards so they're out of the normal GPU price range ($150 to 300 or $200 to 300).

Hmm... I'm seeing many 7970s for ~$240-270 on eBay, but I do agree with the 670/680s not dropping in price.

I've seen most of them go off for $289-$319.
