Question about a raid setup, possibility...

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of a backed type of storage situation...Now I don't want to have 2x3TB In raid 1...For file separation purposes like Music, Movies, Random crap I have in my growing folder... biggrin.gif

Is it possible to store 3x1TB Drive backups onto 1x3TB Backup drive?

What you're describing seems to be something of a RAID 0+1. That the three 1TB drives are RAID 0 together and then that is RAID 1 with the 3TB drive. Like this:

I think you should try it. biggrin.gif How I would suggest trying to accomplish this is first with a controller that supports 0+1, but if you're also like me you may not have this - always good to double check your hardware for it though. wink.gif

Next, I would try to put the three disks in a RAID 0 through the BIOS and then doing a software RAID 1 for the parody. The only problem with this model is that I have little to no experience with windows and RAID, so I would be of little assistance with that. In the least, given that your hardware supports RAID 0, that should be no problem. thumb.gif

PS - You should fill out your rig information in your profile so we can help you better. I've no clue what hardware you have or any idea what it might support.
