Can tapping effect tracking quality of your mice?

You know when you smash your mice on the desk (I have many times) and the mouse still works I wonder whether the tracking quality can get worse. So if I took a G400 e.g and smashed it 8 times against the desk hard would there be any difference in tracking quality BEFORE and AFTER?

Why the hell would you do that? Or care in the first place?

Trust me mate... when I played SC II I used to smash my mice sometimes when I lost (e.g the G400 I remember smashing it against the wall until it was completely in pieces). So durability is also an important factor in mice and the G400 does actually exceptionally well. Too bad thats all I like about most Logitech mice.

I have destroyed mice in a variety of ways including: cord pulling, tapping hurling against the wall or just getting a pair of scissors and smashing the optical port until it was useless. (Did that to the Abyssus because it wouldn't stop jittering).

Errr.. You should just work on anger management, no mouse is going to like intentional beating

I agree with previous posters, while some mice might be faulty at times I think the real problem here is your anger management, or lack thereof.

If you are going to be smashing through your mice whenever you lose a game I would suggest getting the cheapest mice you can find.

Well, I mean not every game right... like probably most games I was alright for the most part I was taking losses... but like after playing 8 hours straight (trust me like I was proper addicted to SC II or whatnot for the best part of 2 years and I was raging at other players like really badly cos I could not reach GM league but different story anyway) it can help to have a mouse thats durable so that the rate at which I render my mice unusable is decreased.

I need a mouse thats right for me AND durable so you know you fellow mouse addicts help me out OK?

I love all these amusingly brainless topics you're starting!
Anyway, have you tried the "Virtually Indestructible Mouse"?

Seriously, if you're smashing your gaming equipment, then you're definitely having anger issues. Do yourself and your fellow human beings a favor and work them out. Nobody likes choleric people. smile.gif

How about you hit yourself in the head instead of beating your mouse? Might solve some more problems beside your game...
