Dual Screen Laptop

Ok so ive seen a few laptops that offer dual screen but theyre usually bulky and overpriced with poor battery. So this got me thinking can i turn my current laptop into a dual screen laptop. Crazy i know?
So first i looked into using a usb monitor but i read alot are small and really slow response times. Ive used my tablet with my computer as a monitor before but my tablet is far too small and the resolution is poor. So i was thinking what if i could connect an old laptop screen via vga or hdmi? after searching around i found that i could do exactly this!

The links i found where to ebay items but these are powered by a separate power supply, then i thought, whenever im going to be using the 2nd monitor ill be by a plug anyway, ie at university or at home. So this idea was looking to be pretty good, the plan was just to use a normal hinge to attach the old monitor to the laptop screen. The problem with this was that the backs of the laptop screens would be touching, meaning the screen i attach would be at risk when i am transporting it. So my thoughts where to get some sort of swivel hinge but i had no luck at finding anything that would give the look i want so back to the drawing board.
whilst looking through ebay i thought 2 suction mounts(used for attaching sat navs to windows) screwed together would allow me to attach the monitors together. So i hit ebay and i found this
so now we finally arise at my question

What are you general thoughts on this idea, the old laptop screen has a shiney black back which is very similar to glass whereas the new one isn't so the new laptop would have to have bolts coming out of it :/ unless anyone knows of a better mounting option?

This was what i looked at first some sort of simple hinge but when traveling between home work and uni i would be to scared to put anything else in the bag as the second screen would be unprotected and facing outwards which is why i looked into the arm on ebay as that would allow me to turn the screen and face it towards the back of the laptop for traveling. I am interested at the tape though as that could allow me to not need to run bolts through the back of the screens

have you got a link to the B n Q item online as i can only find gaffer tape?

Thanks, i actually think im going to try your method completely, the arm will just be too bulky and your method would look much sleeker with the only downside being the screen being unprotected but ive dont some research an some companies are making dual screen laptops with a screen on the back, dont see the point tbh lol but eh

will be a while before i get round to doing this but repped for the help thankyou

That actually gave me an idea, instead of attaching the screen to my laptop, get a stand like a tablet stand like for the surface. Then i found the lack of 15inch tablets would mean nobody has actualy made this kind of stand doh. However they have made laptops this size obviously so i thought maybe i could use a laptop stand, after some googling i came across this but after watching a video on youtube i realised that would not be light lol. So back to searching and i found this on amazon. And i remembered that i actually already have one, it came with the laptop that the university gave me (y) awesome so once my kit arrives to turn the screen into a monitor im going to be sorted

i may look for some sort of cloth laptop sleeve for the second screen just to protect it from scratches and such though hmmm (y)
as always ocn has inspired my to achieve and helped me to achieve (Y)
