I wouldn't touch skyward sword because I don't play bad zelda games

So it's bad why now?

Never understood how one can call a game "bad" when they simply refuse to try it. I mean, that doesn't even make sense, unless your whole life revolves around others telling you what is good and bad without actual trying it for yourself.

Your idea of the games being "the same thing" is pretty much a blanket statement that can cover any sequel to any game EVER made.

Battlefield.... kill with weapons... in different time periods. (and I've got well over 100 hours in BF3 so I'm not hating, just stating the reality of it)
Call of Duty... new names same faces to kill yearly
Halo ^ see above
Any racing game ... updated car list ... newer graphics

Etc. It's too much of a blanket statement to make. The Zelda franchise's art direction alone can make them feel like totally different games. Besides, the Wii controls in skyward makes it feel like a pretty "different" game to me

This is what I was pointing out by calling him a hypocrite since he's calling COD rehash yet calls each LOZ game unique. The only real graphical jump was between orcarina of time and twilight princess.

Also I tried playing skyward sword as was completely bored from the beginning which spanned around 3 hours into it from the beginning.

lol Skyward Sword bad? I guess some people just prefer the furry nature of Twilight Princess but I thought SS was an amazing game. As did... the entire gaming world. Too much backtracking though. But it's certainly up there with MM.

Most games are 'the same thing' once you've broken them down to their most basic elements. It's how each game implements those familiar concepts that makes them unique.

New support characters, completely original level designs, puzzles and bosses, new items, new uses for returning items, an original score, unique art direction, etc. Not to mention core gameplay mechanics like the wolf form in TP, 1:1 sword movement and the dungeon-like overworld in SS, three day cycle in MM and so on, which are hardly 'little changes.'

I don't really care about the comparison to Call of Duty, but Nintendo franchises get way too much crap for being rehashes when it often couldn't be further from the truth. You may play as a boy in a green hat who's out to save a princess, but each new Zelda has just as much original content as you'd expect from any other series/game.

How's it hypocritical, lol?

For CoD it's literally the same game at the start with miner tweaks. Obviously the campaign is different each time but the amount of changes for MP are nowhere near what constitutes a new game. This is entirely different to what I pointed out before. So no.

the legend of zelda series isn't for all. Its a game with a large history and lore. Questioning the game, how the timelines work and how each series in the game links to one another(and making sense of it) e.g how skyward sword started the legend and created the mastersword, and that link and zelda was supposed to be the first to populate lower hyrule, which would eventually evolve into what is seen in the other games. If you blindly play the game without knowing much behind the background of the game(e.g ganondorf's execution scene in twilight princess was to represent the timeline in which younger link warned hyrule in the past of ganondorf's future intentions and locked him up) then the game seems very repetitive.

What would you add to an FPS's Multiplayer that you think nobody else has done? What do you think needs to be overhauled in call of duty?
