Hey guys, my Swifttech h220 water cooler died on me so I have to use the stock Intel heatsink at the moment.

Do you guys think these temps are OK? I'm rendering some BF3 footage via Sony Vegas and everything is 80's Celcius:

Some of the cores are hitting 90C now I would like to add.

I would turn down the overclock while you are running on the stock cooler. I wouldn't run 90C routinely.

That's the thing - I already turned the overclock OFF and I EVEN had to disable the turbo boost, since it brings the chip to 3.9ghz and the voltage up by default.

I put the CPU fan on turbo and there are not many other settings I can change.

The stock cooler just sucks, pretty absurd that the cooler is so bad, that on default settings and with the stock cooler you might even have to avoid certain tasks on the PC like rendering rolleyes.gif

I run the stock intel cooler, with turbo boost on... I never go above 70c while gaming... Min = 28c Max= 64c idle is 34c Your chip runs really hot... And to think I though my 4770k ran hot with the stock cooler.. Also, how did you turn off the turbo boost?
