Why can't I change my refresh rate to my new monitor's maximum?

Hey guys,

So today I purchased the ASUS VG248, installed the .inf driver file and the monitor appears on my computer. Only problem is that I still am unable to change my desktop refresh rate to anything beyond 60 at 1920 x 1080.

I'm using the dual link dvi-d cable that came with the monitor and ATI 6970 GPU. Am I missing something? I realize this is probable a dumb question but i'd appreciate the help!

One of you DVI conectors on your card may be single link dvi.

try switching to the other dvi on your card.

did you try switching it using the buttons on the monitor or try going into ati catalyst and adjusting that way?

there is also this weird note...

Just tried this with no luck.

I'm trying to change it in catalyst because theres no option in the monitor menu when using the buttons.
I've also tried by going into control panel
