Port Xbox One and PS4 to PC

Thread Starter
Let's think guys:

PS4 and Xbox One runs on AMD's APU which would potentially allow one to install Windows onto them.

What about the REVERSE?

Will it be possible to port Xbox One and PS4 firmwares onto PC?

Older systems ran on IBM chips if I recall correctly. wouldn't this be the first time consoles are based off of x86?

Would be finally be able to play Xbox and PS exclusive games on a PC without an emulator and without Xbox and PS?

I hear Steam box isn't actually going to be a console but, rather set standard, probably a hardware standard. which would make sense since next gen is going to be x86.

I hope someone gets this right.

Wouldn't it be nice to use a side gaming rig as a Xbox and a PS4 biggrin.gif?

The first xbox had an intel chip. Some custom celeron 700Mhz...I don't remember and am too lazy to look it up right now.

Anyway if you're asking if you can make a PC and run ps4/xbone on it like some kind of hackintosh...i don't think so. As with the original xbox there will custom BIOS (or the case of this newer gen possibly some kind of EFI, whatever) and lots of anti-counterfeit DRM chips all over the main boards. Probably proprietary-up the blue media as well. I mean if I had to guess. I mean, is anybody running 360 games on their PowerPC Macs right now?

It'll never happen, unless someone leaks the dev kit software somehow.

That will never happen, all the dev kits have an unique watermark. Whoever would leak it would expose himself and the developer he works for to huge legal troubles.

* From what Ive heard, Xbox one is based on windows OS, IMO it could mean that xbox-microsoft would allow indie developers access to make Xbox games without special dev kit software, or microsoft would lift restrictions that would allow them to crerate games for xbox version more simply.

* For example: Steam commnunity game developers have a platform to make games for the pc....if a steam game is ever considered for an xbox launch, developers would not need to re-write the code-software to be playable on Xbox- .....microsoft would just lift the license restrictions and alow the game to be ported to xbox., simple logistics. But it just my opinion.
