currently on my phone so I can't copy and paste the instructions.
Chainfire (a dev) has written a very good guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803.
All the info you'll need are there.
To know what version you are running, go to setting, about.
Welcome to the world of rooting & flashing roms! it's mildly addictive smile.gif

Thank you, ive managed it now though its all rooted smile.gif can you overclock? Ive sort of found cpu set but it doesn't actually overclock all it does is set my cpu to run at 1.89ghz 24/7 how can you increase the clock to say 2ghz for instance? Im all about performance me can you recommend any apps or a desent system optimizer for rooted android?? Cheers

Snapdragon 600 clocked at 1.9ghz is more then enough IMHO. Also, to get that kind of frequency the soc needs to run at stupid voltages (1.275 quoting anandtech).
If i were you I'll run the phone at around 1/1.2ghz undervolted and save on battery life.
If you want to overclock just because you can,, fine. You need to install a custom kernel which allows to overclock; most likely there is an app custom made for the kernel. Install it and overclock from there. If not, use SetCpu from the market.

yeh true 1.9ghz is fast so I shall just keep it at that speed as I only have to charge one a day which is fine by me.. what kernel do you recommend? I kinda like the stock one but haven't tired any others
