i7-860 burning inside Cooler Master 120 advance

I have a i7-860 sitting inside the cooler master 120 with stock speeds and stock fan. It idles at 60C and doing any sort of heavy processing takes it up to 90C. Prime95 can take it from 60C to 100C in 10 seconds. I know that this generation of cpu is hotter than newer ones but still 60C idle is way too hot, let alone 90C under load.

Keep in mind that these temps are while I've installed the 2nd optional 12cm fan inside, so 2 front fans are pulling air and the side 8cm fan is pushing hot air out. I also turned my psu upside down to keep its fan above the cpu heatsink but it's a corsair ax750 and fan doesn't spin unless psu really gets hot.

At first I thought the heatsink isn't seated properly so I reseated it with new mx-2 thermal paste.. still the same temps.

So what should I do guys? I'm really concerned about this..

Isn't that normal for a stock fan?

I think you'll make a good present to yourself if you get a good cooler. thumb.gif

Hrm.. I had realized those all-in-one watercooling kits may fit in small cases, but I'm not an expert.

the max cooler height is 65mm right?

this will fit without a problem if they fit your motherboard

Thanks for the links somebadlemonade, I think I've read somewhere that if you install the GeminII, it will take the space for the pci slot as well.. I need to double check it again..

Do you think using one of these coolers will have a dramatic temperature drop?
