gt430 fanspeed

Dear OCN,

It's been a while since i had a "green side" card.
I've just purchased a 430GT. I've equipped it with a Arctic accelero which keeps temps below 30C.
One problem is, i can't seem to find any fan speed controll anywhere. Even with MSI afterburner i can't set it to my own preset using the curves, it simply will not adjust speed and has it's own will. And afterburner has a reading of 0% fan speed which is obviously not correct.
The accelero is a 4 pin connector so that should "listen" to afterburner.

What am i doing wrong? I need this fan to slow down as it's just pointlessly moving lots of air right now.

Only thing i can assume is the GT430 is such a lower power card, the stock fans can stay at 100% and be okay.

Then why would they bother with a 4 pin connector?
Besides, if it's low power it should actually be less heat productive then it's big brothers. They are basically made to be slow and silent for the low end PC's. I can't believe they would release a card without a fan controll on it.

The old 8600GT's i know had a 100% Only Fan on it. I would assume the 4 Pin is for the Card BIOS to know what it's running at and maybe raise or lower it some depending on the Temp. So i would assume your issue is cuz the BIOS is Locked for the Fan Controls. You can try SpeedFan>Advanced> Change the Options or even RivaTuner to see if you can Bypass the Fan Lock.

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried with Afterburner, but i had no luck.
After googling i found that some people could lower the fan speed by flashing the card.
So i did that using nibitor but it simply won't effect mine. Nibitor works, and i "wrote" a new bios. Flashing works fine, but it simply will not lower fan speed.

I'm still looking into this, but i think this is somehow hardcoded -.-
